About the Play
The play takes place in modern times in Co. Cavan, Ireland. It is a
Saturday evening at Mary Jacks, a local bar in the village of Drumskea. Benny
and the boys are having a game of cards. Brid is in charge as Jack, the owner is
attending a function at the local hotel. Business is quiet due to the new drink
driving laws. After this Saturday night things will never be the same again in
Drumskea as Benny pays a visit to Cavan General Hospital. He discovers what it
means to be Close to Home. |
